Leaves and Berries - Viburnum Print
This print is based on a watercolor painting I did of the leaves and berries of a beautiful shrub called highbush cranberry (viburnum trilobum). In my painting, I tried to capture the luster of the red-orange berries and the brick red, rust and green tones of the autumn leaves.
I grow this shrub in my garden but it also can be found wild in nearby forests. Often, the berries stay on the shrub long past when the leaves have fallen. They are particularly beautiful when covered by frost or a thin dusting of snow but, more often than not, the birds will eat them first.
A beautiful botanical print for a nature lover or gardener.
