Flowers for Change - Note Cards

Regular price $17.50 USD $0.00 USD

This is a set of five note cards featuring a bouquet I painted in memory of George Floyd and too many others lost to racial intolerance and injustice. My painting is a way of using my art to show my support and participate in the worldwide Black Lives Matter protests and movement.

For the month of July, I will donate $4 from each 'Flowers for Change' note card purchase, to the Black Solidarity Fund. This fund unites over 50 Black community organizations across Canada.

In June, a donation of US$4/CA$5.50 from Flowers for Change card sales was donated to the Black Health Alliance, a national Canadian community-led registered charity working to improve the health and well-being of Black communities in Canada.

I chose each flower according to their traditional floral meaning and tried to create a bouquet full of strength, significance and hope. (The meaning of each flower is noted on the back of the card. See the second photo.)

Black tulip - power, strength and supreme elegance
Dill - powerful against evil
Borage - directness, courage and sometimes seen as a remedy for a heavy heart
Black-eyed Susan - justice
Blue iris - faith and hope
Thyme - courage and strength
Forget-me-not - remembrance
